Just read it. I don't think I every knew your aversion was so great. So other than Brett E. Ellis, what other books evoke this reaction?

well, i adore lynda barry's *Cruddy*, but suffered through parts of it. my love for the book absorbed my suffering through its violence, which didn't happen, for instance, in *Blood Meridian*. a scene comes to mind from Murakami's *The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle* that i couldn't stop re-reading, nauseated. tried to read de Sade, didn't get too far :-)

i'm sure there are more. but the thing is, i'll read anything, or attempt to. if i stop reading it, it won't be merely because it's violent. movies, on the other hand--i'll rule them out without a second thought.

thnx for reading.
